Keep on Walking (the Talk)

Since 2021, UNDP Zimbabwe has been certified carbon neutral - meaning that our reduced or offset emissions are equal or more than those that our operational footprint emits. Just as we are committed to Zimbabwe’s green transition, we are equally committed to leading by example.

Yusufu Size and the Greening Team’s initiatives have focused on reducing water consumption, optimising lighting, upgrading electrical appliances, integrating solar energy, and minimising generator use for our office.
‍
Beyond reducing the office’s environmental footprint, these efforts are yielding tangible benefits— avoidance of energy costs and uninterrupted productivity despite power challenges. A notable outcome has been a staff culture shift, with many employees adopting green practices in their own homes.
45kW
solar photovoltaic system installed at our main office, providing 100% of our operational power during daylight hours, significantly reducing our carbon footprint and reliance on the grid.
▲ Expanding our commitment to sustainable energy: We’re bringing solar power to a second office block, following the success of our initial installation
